All Are Encouraged to Remember the Importance of our Pledge to America

Proud Americans
Thankful Americans for all Blessings

When a recent graduating class of new American Citizens were given their official certificates for becoming new American Citizens, it was thrilling and an extremely proud moment to hear these people expressed their appreciation for becoming part of such a wonderful country.  Hearing each person relay how grateful they were to be a part of such a great country made my heart swell and saw how others around them puffed up with great pride.

It seems too many Americans have begun to take our freedoms and the support of our American leaders for granted.  So many new citizens can share some extremely sad stories of mistreatment by their original country leaders, and such stories are repeated by other fellow citizens.

No doubt there are some “bad apples” that can be found in our country’s closets, but we have many hard-working country representatives who contribute so much to our fellow citizens.  In fact, we need more such supportive representatives.  Those helping at a Red Cross or United Way which benefits many in need.  Even such caring individuals who donate their time, supplies, and encouragement.

In addition to these fine institutions, there are “other support venues, like “clothing barns” and “loaves and fishes”, etc., which helps to feed those who can’t get the nourishment needed to those starving youngsters.   And the ones needing decent clothing.  There are still others who seek any type of work to take care of their families.  The fact is locating a job in order to work is all that most people request.  All people should be treated with respect and kindness.

Our country’s leaders today would make these fine men and women so appreciative with the simple things in life: food, clothing, money to pay gas or light bills.  Please encourage our fellow countrymen and women to offer support and encouragement to those people – young, old, sick, well, women and men, etc.

As you say the pledge to America, let these thoughts fill your mind.  “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible for liberty and justice for all.”  (That is for ALL!)
