Ways to Ease the Return to Work

IDEAS THAT MIGHT EASE THE RETURN TO WORK

With thoughts of returning to the office, what could employers do to make this change more appealing or less stressful?  Would reducing your workload be a welcomed improvement?  If you are feeling more anxious due to the challenge of keeping up with the constant workload, having some extra help tackling the load would definitely be a big relief.

What are other ways of easing the return to the workplace?

  • Providing a break on gasoline’s increased fees.  Offering a supplemental gas relief since gas prices have increased.  (Good for at least six months to a year.)
  • Keep a relaxed dress protocol, providing at least two days a week of a “step-down” attire.  (Keeps from spending more on office attire.)
  • Office provides a light lunch delivered once or twice a week, to keep from “going out” or “buying lunch” those days.  (An offering for at least 3 – 6 months would be great!)
  • If parking costs are necessary, consider the employer covering a percentage when parking at a partnering or cooperative garage on monthly parking fees.
  • Employers could consider providing free face masks, sanitizers, access to quality bacteria sprays and cleansers for the employees.  This benefits all.

Employers want to keep their good, dependable employees, and these suggestions are just some ways to help their workforces to adapt to their return work routine.  The pandemic has caused some unplanned adjustments and expenses, and now to return to the public work sites, there will be more adjustments.  All have had to manage changes, but hopefully with the vaccinations, the lives of all will begin to settle down.

Hopefully, these tips and suggestions may ease the return to “normal”.  All are encouraged to work on improving communication – be sure to “listen” and share concerns.  Compass Career Management Solutions are human resources experts, who assist with a variety of transitions.
